MikroTik's GPEN (Gigabit Passive Ethernet Network) Technology is designed for long-distance copper Ethernet connectivity as an alternative to fibre. It provides all the benefits of a fibre GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) solution without the installation complexities and has a maximum range of 1.5km. GPEN doesn’t require expensive head-end equipment and can simply be connected via an Ethernet switch.
